Our little mountain getaway

We decided last Thursday that we wanted to head to the mountains for the weekend. We thought a little trip to the mountains with the beautiful changing leaves, crisp air, and morning coffee with a sunrise would be a perfect fall treat. {So maybe that wasn't exactly Patrick's train of thought, but he was definitely all for a trip.} Patrick found a deal on Travelzoo, and we headed out Saturday morning. We stayed just one night at the Ridges Resort and Marina in the Blue Ridge. The drive was gorgeous, and the place was all decorated for Christmas. It was a perfect little getaway. Here are some pictures...I could kick myself for forgetting my nice camera. But when I remembered after sitting on construction traffic on 400, there was no turning back.

This always makes for a nice, quiet trip. Even if it only lasts for 30 minutes. ;)
 We're here!

Good grief, I love these two.
Because when there is a cannon, you have to take a picture with it. duh.

So after only a 30 minute nap in the car, T was just a little on the grumpy side. We put her down for a nap and had ourselves a little date night while she slept. Our door led out to an open field with ladder golf and corn hole, and lucky for us the monitor reached. We enjoyed some wine and time together. It was so awesome.
 love a sunrise.
