Our sweet T is here!

Our sweet baby girl made her arrival one week ago today from Thursday when I started trying to write this post. It was one of the best days of our lives and the days have only continued to get sweeter. They say that the love you have for your child is unlike anything else, and that you can't understand it until you're in it. I guess I get it now. Oh.my.word...we are so head over heels in love with our Teagan.

Our doctor offered to induce on Thursday, July 12th-just 5 days before our due date. Going into this, we didn't plan on being induced at all. However, when I started to think that I only had a 1 in 10 chance of my doctor being on call when I went into labor and that there was an almost equal chance that I would have never laid eyes on the doctor who happened to be on call when I did go into labor, we decided to go for it. I am so happy we did.

We went into the hospital on Wednesday night to start the induction process. Turns out, we think she was going to be making her arrival anyway on Thursday because I was progressing on my own without much help from the medication...maybe it was the eggplant parmesan from Scilini's that Patrick got for me on Wednesday night, who knows. I had some pretty intense labor pains Wednesday night before finally asking for the epidural-oh epidural how I love you. The whole process from there changed dramatically. I feel pretty certain we have one of the best doctors, and he made the whole delivery process so calm-not at all what I was expecting.

By 12:29pm on Thursday, July 12th- I had 8.0 lbs and 21 inches of pure preciousness in my arms. The moment was a bit surreal and hard for me to process at the time, but looking back on it-oh my goodness. I'm pretty sure I've cried each day since she's been here because I'm so overcome with love for her. It is unlike anything else. On Saturday, I told Patrick through teary eyes, "I can't believe she's already TWO DAYS OLD. It's going by way too fast..she's going to grow up too quickly!" I can't believe it has already been 9 days. I am just trying to take in every minute that I get with her.

By day 5, I already had 507 pictures to put on my computer. I've narrowed them down a bit, but I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking...
